Christ Emphasis Week – What Do You Want Out of Life?

Christ Emphasis Week

It’s Christ Emphasis Week (CEW) again at Central Philippine University.

This year’s CEW theme is “What do you want out of life?”

The CEW text is in John 1:37-39.

Beginning July 18 until July 23, class periods are shortened to give time to the regular CEW convocations scheduled for elementary, high school, and college students.

Nelson Ayala and his team from the Agape Philippine-American Ministries composed this semester’s CEW speakers.

Just a reflection, if Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the LIFE, then the question is not only “What do I want out of life?”

It is more comforting and God-directed if we could also be asking and reflecting, “What does LIFE (Jesus Christ) want from me?”

Students must get the best out of what CPU is offering…ATTEND THE CHRIST EMPHASIS WEEK!

  1. I like the notion that the question is not only “what do I want out of life” but also, “what does life want out of me.” Now, if that can be addressed specifically, practically, and consistently throughout the entire CEW structure and process, it would do much towards the creation and nurture of a truly “christian” institution. All the best to those who are making CEW an important and meaningful part of CPU.

    1. Thank you for posting your thoughts here, Sir. You have posted a very important challenge to all of us who see CEW as important and meaningful to CPU’s life. To share my opinion, one concrete way of addressing these questions is to examine how much dear old CPU is dedicating her resources towards achieving a very successful and fulfilling CEW. The question of “how much” refers to the use of financial and physical resources for holding CEW and pursuing a sustainable and continuing spiritual program for the university.

With your knowledge and experience, please share how CPU could address specifically, practically, and consistently the question. Thank you very much, Sir.

    1. You mean ang video? Syempre ang video editing and effects gin-obra sang taga-EMC nga ang ngalan ya si Mr. Donald Lebrilla. Ang camera man si Dionisio Coronado with the assistance of EMC work students. Ambot sin-o nag idea kag nag-direct sini nga production a?

  2. hello. I’m really blessed and grateful for the experiences that i’ve gained during this semester’s CEW. Indeed if we search for the true meaning of life, which is Jesus Christ, we will be able to fulfill our greatest need and we will be guided to live by the Purpose of God. Thankyou for CPU for having CEW!! It always inspires me to do my best in not only being as a student but giving it my all in everyday of my life for the Glory of God! Godspeed to CPU! 😀

  3. It’s the last day of CEW week. I hope it is not the last day of our commitment of telling the student what life is all about. The presentation of the gospel ends but the discipleship process begins. May the chaplain’s office be empowered to follow-up those who have received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour so that they will continue to grow in knowledge of our risen Lord. I myself has been saved through CPU- CEW! God bless!
